We publish two kinds of number: what the Food Standards Agency published, and what we calculated from it. The two need different routes when something looks wrong.
If a rating, a date or a business detail is wrong, the record belongs to the local authority that inspected the premises and to the Food Standards Agency that publishes it. Our page cannot change it. Each business row links to the current published record, which is the version that counts, and a correction there reaches us with the next accepted file.
If the arithmetic looks wrong, that is ours. A share that does not match its own denominator, an interval that excludes the value inside it, a gap that points the wrong way, a business shown under the wrong authority, or a total that cannot be reproduced from the published table: all of those are our defects.
Tell us which page, which figure and which file date you were reading. We keep every accepted file, so we can reproduce any published figure on request.
When we change a published figure, the change is listed on the updates page with its date and the reason. We do not edit a number quietly. No correction is recorded for the file accepted on 18 October 2026.
