Food hygiene map

Permitted aggregates

  1. Food hygiene map
  2. Permitted aggregates

The Food Standards Agency supplies the dated input file. Our downloads contain calculated area totals, shares, their denominators and intervals. They contain no individual business row, address or coordinate.

Each data page links its own aggregate CSV and calculation data. Both repeat the page's suppression: a withheld share is absent in every export. CSV columns name the measure, value, unit, denominator, lower and upper bounds, and observation state.

A count is exact for the accepted file; it has no interval. A share is stored as a fraction and displayed as a percentage on the page. Its interval is Wilson. Differences are in percentage points and do not acquire a Wilson interval.

To cite a figure, name Food Hygiene Map, the page title, the accepted file date and the release identifier shown with the download. Credit the Food Standards Agency and retain the licence acknowledgement printed below. The methodology explains the source, exclusions and comparison base.
